CARE HOME JOBS
Care homes provide 24-hour residential care for residential care for people with a range of different needs. Many care homes are for elderly people who are no longer able to live alone without support, but care home work can also be with residents who have physical disabilities, learning disabilities or mental health issues.
Working in a care home
As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) or Care Worker in a care home, your main role is to provide the daily care and support that the residents need and are unable to do for themselves. This will involve many aspects of personal care and hygiene and help with eating and drinking. You may also be required to monitor basic health measurements such as taking temperature and allocating some medication.
In addition to personal care, care home jobs have a social aspect. Care workers may be needed to take residents to appointments and assist with social events and outings.
Agency care home jobs
We are always looking for Healthcare Assistants to fill short term positions in care homes in the south east. There are also opportunities for Registered Nurses (RGN), who will provide medical care to residents when needed. All agency care home jobs require you to be physically fit as you will be on your feet all day, but the work you do is very rewarding.
